The Organising Committee is delighted to invite breeders, owners, enthusiasts and
friends of Black, Belted, White and Riggit Galloway cattle from around the world to join
us for the 2027 World Galloway Congress.
This Congress promises to be a truly memorable occasion as we gather in the homeland
of the Galloway breed to celebrate not only the strength and success of our global
Galloway community, but also the 150th Anniversary of the Galloway Cattle Society of
Great Britain and Ireland.
Over eleven unforgettable days, delegates will experience the very best that Ireland,
Scotland and England have to offer. From visits to some of the finest Galloway herds to
iconic landmarks including Titanic Belfast, Glenarm Castle, the Giant’s Causeway,
Hadrian’s Wall, the Ulster Folk Museum, and the spectacular landscapes of the Lake
District, the programme has been carefully designed to combine cattle, culture, history
and friendship.
The Congress offers a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, renew old friendships,
make new connections and celebrate our shared passion for one of the world’s most
distinctive native cattle breeds. In this 150th year of the Galloway Society, rare examples
of the first herd books will be on display on conference day.

visits to exceptional Galloway, Belted Galloway and Riggit herds, a day exploring the
breathtaking landscapes of Exmoor National Park, and a visit to the renowned Chagford
Agricultural Show. Along the way, delegates will enjoy the warm hospitality of local
breeders while experiencing some of England’s most picturesque farming country.
