Our penultimate show of the year took us to Shane’s Castle in Antrim on Saturday 27th July.  The sun was shining on the backs of the 15 animals being put forward for the consideration of our judge, Kate Madden, a well-known Galloway breeder from Carnlough.   The decision was taken to split the heifer class as there was such a large entry of stock.

All eyes forward now to the 1st Irish Premier Show and Sale of Galloway cattle on 6th September in Ballymena Mart.  Just a reminder that the closing date for entries is Friday 9th August.  All entry forms must be sent, along with a cheque, to club secretary Christina Cormack.  We really hope to get a good turnout for this sale to ensure it becomes a regular fixture to showcase the top-quality stock that is being produced locally. There will also be an opportunity to sell your unregistered Galloway stock and beef bred Galloway stock at the end of the main pedigree sale.
