The Belted Galloways National show was held at the Royal Three Counties Show at Malvern.  The showground is in a beautiful setting surrounded by the Malvern Hills.  The day started off with sunshine then heavy rain and then the wind before ending the day in sunshine.  Judge for the day was Robert Adams from the Bigginvale Herd from Derbyshire.

The first class of the day was the senior bull and standing at the top of this class was the three-year-old bull Shelsleys Biffo, a Mistral Hero son out of a homebred cow Shelsleys Emerald, bred and exhibited by David and Deborah Powell, taking second spot was Wyddial Stanley from Jeremy Loxton.

In the Junior bull class, it was the Powells who took the top spot again with their bull Shelsleys Kwagga, this two year old bull is sired by Mistral Phoenix and out of Shelsleys Hopscotch taking second place was Jonathon and Vicky Clowes with their bull Monochrome Jack the Lad and in third place was Clifton Horatio from Alison and Harriet Bunning.

In the Senior heifer class the winner was Gruige Molly from Mervyn Forster, sired by Clifton Lapwing and out of Mochrum Krista 5th.  Molly was purchased in-calf at Castle Douglas last October.   Taking the blue rosette for second was Mochrum Gemma from Patrick and Darlene Ford who also bought her at the Castle Douglas sale.  Third place was Wisley Brambling 339 from Surrey Wildlife Trust.

The Junior heifer class was won by a heifer from Jonathan and Vicky Clowes, Monochrome Jean who is sired by Mochrum Lachie and out of the homebred cow Monochrome Flare.  Second prize went to Hatherland Noctua from Alison and Harriet Bunning and taking third place in this strong class of heifers was Wisley Goldfinch 396 from Surrey Wildlife Trust.

The maiden heifer calf class was next, and this was won by Mervyn Forster with another purchase from Castle Douglas Croasdale Tawny Owl, a Lomond Whisky Galore daughter out of Croasdale Oh Marty.  Second place was another purchase from Castle Douglas this time from Patrick and Darlene Ford with Coulmony Phoebe closely followed in third place Hatherland North Star from Alison and Harriet Bunning.
