The Summer 2023 herd walk is planned for Sunday 13th August from 2pm.

The walk will be over three sites to view the TwoMills herds of Galloway cattle owned by Jeremy Perkins. Jeremy has herds of Belted, Black and Riggit cattle on three different sites.

The Belted Galloway herd graze the  Suffolk Wildlife Trust Stanny Reserve near Iken on the banks of the River Alde. The Galloway herd graze the Suffolk Wildlife Trust Snape Marshes, where a Black Galloway bull is running with black Galloway cows and calves, White Riggit Galloway and a couple of black Belted Galloway heifers. The final group is the Riggir Galloways on a private reserve at Cliff Farm, Methersgate Hall Lane, Sutton hoo

Full details will be available in due course but the visit includes two new grazing areas for the Two Mills herd in 2023 run by The Suffolk Wildlife Trust and with them supporting the Riggit Galloway conservation project alongside their own conservation objectives. This is an ideal opportunity to visit three special landscapes without usual public access and hear from the SWT conservation and grazing team about the work of the Trust as well as viewing the cattle groups.

The intention is to end the tour with refreshments at The Golden Key, Snape
