The Southern Breeders’ Group of the Belted Galloway Cattle Society of UK and Eire is pleased to be holding a farm visit at 2pm on May 25th to Nythe Farm, Sedgemoor Road, North Curry, Taunton, Somerset TA3 6DS.

Nythe Farm is home to Mike and Leslie Dennis and their family and is an inspiring example of a successfully diversified farm business. They have around 50 Belted Galloways with blood lines including Howe Mill, Widecombe, Stretton and Two Mills, along side a flock of 150 commercial sheep. The main farm business revolves around 60,000 on-site broiler chickens and Nythe Farm Kitchen, the Dennis’ commercial food cooking business. The business supplies several well-known retail outlets and restaurant chains with cooked chicken pieces.

Society members and friends are invited to arrive at 2pm and will have the opportunity to tour the farm and the food business before concluding the day with a barbecue on the site of the farm’s holiday Shepherd Huts.

To register your interest in attending please email or message Pippa Loxton by 18th May [email protected]
