A hot and sunny 2024 Royal Norfolk Show

Entries for 2024 had been hit by the legacy of the Blue Tongue outbreak earlier in the year. Nevertheless the quality of animals was still high as 11 animals were entered and 10 bought forward by five breeders. Good to welcome breeder Sharon Morter, new to the Belties, but well known to the local cattle showing scene with the Simmentals.

Our Judge for the day was Belted Galloway Breeder Mr Will Willcocks from the Weatherdon herd in Ivybridge, Devon. Will and his wife Ann run a commercial herd of belties on Dartmoor.

Congratulations to Ben Smith & Becky Burgess for being our 2024 Best of Breed Winners of the Christine Osborne Challenge Cup with their smart senior heifer Blackthorn Zara, a 2022 born heifer sired by Shelsleys Willie Redman. Reserve best of Breed went to Malcolm Robinsons 2021 born bull Millbrook Arnie sired by Southfield Sonny Boy.
